Support Services

Whether you are planning an event, planning to attend an event, or have previously attended a free speech event where you have concerns, UNM has numerous resources and departments to help support students.

Planning an event?

If you are partnering with another organization, you are encouraged to ask questions to determine if the event goals of each group are in alignment and complement one another.

If you do plan to host an event, in collaboration or independently, please consider utilizing the event planning guide on the Student Activities Center website. There you will find tools, checklists, and event budgets to help you plan your event. More information about hosting a speech event on campus is available in the Hosting Events tab.

Need to report something?

If you notice behavior from individuals either before or during an event that is not in alignment with expectations or compromises the safety of participants, please contact the Dean of Students office at (505) 277-3361 or UNM Police at 505-277-2241.

If you witness or experience an incident of hate or bias at a free speech event and wish to report it, you may click here.

If you feel your civil rights have been violated or if you have witnessed someone else's civil rights be violated, you may click here to report the incident.
